Now with IRs and an LCD! Got a bit of a ways to go but it’s coming along swiftly!

CAT’s motor purrs when the petting sensor is being pet, and it meows back (in the Serial Monitor) when it hears you meowing at it!

C.A.T., or Cuddly Arduinic Therapist, is my project in Interface for Music & Media class.
What the– you’re building a cat?
Yes, an Arduino-powered one at that! One that won’t cause allergies or disgust its owner with hairballs. Petting CAT will make it react positively, purring at 50Hz (a healing frequency), giving the same benefit as a real animal. This is achieved through conductive thread/fabric and a vibrating motor. Many more surprises are to come; new Arduino shields and other fun parts will be in my mailbox soon! I’ll get some video up during the week, along with a few design/layout paintings too

Hey guys! Starting a new blog, which serves no other purpose than to entertain your eyeballs with tiny cute things. (more…)

So I’m taking this Beginning Object-Oriented Programming class this semester with the hopes of getting into the beginning robot-music-making-cool-awesome class next Fall. Music tech school? Yes please! Here’s the ChucK code for anyone who happens to need a car alarm. (And yes, I’m still drawing, just not uploading much…. yet!) ![]()
I’d totally attach an audio file if I knew how. Right now we’re working directly in miniAudicle, so if you download that then you can hear the car alarm in all its glory

This called out to me in a musical fashion at an art store of all places. I didn’t want to be a creeper and appear to be hovering over the little girl that was playing it when I finally located it within the store. Feigning interest in the sketchbooks, silence hung in the air and I attacked the toy piano. And fell in love. And brought it home. It’s my new toy, which apparently carries its tunes clear through multiple closed doors and walls, which isn’t so good for my suitemates… Hey, I’ve been wanting one for nearly a decade and it was on sale! Expect to hear it in soundtracks this year

The last one was a Mac-Book. This one’s an iDrawingpad.

“Apps” include Character Designs, Portraits, Insanity, Ideas, Sleeplessness, Thumbnails, Design, Life Drawing, etc…
The whole point of this is that fancy new things can still be done with old technology… pens and papers!

…And that’s one of the first drawings

My mom made me the majority of my stuffed animals. While on a hunt for long-lost boxes of Sculpey today, I came across a bag of perfectly-good stuffed animals that were quite endangered! Who knows when a burglar possum’s going to break into a shed and hold all its stuffed animals hostage, or kidnap them because of their irresistible cuteness?

Yep, that’s a crab playing a violin.

Nerd alert.

Lo and behold, my latest 11×14″ sketchbook sports a single, large, oldschool Apple sticker… which makes it a Mac-book! (har har har!) It’s got a really fast processor, too– though it’s only 15 days old, I’ve already filled a third of it. (badum-PSHHH!!)
