Well let me tell you something about those silhouettes that appear to have gone through some "easy" animating.
The reason why the film is animated completely in silhouette is because of its strong symbolic nature. It isn't until a surprise at the end that the reason for the silhouettes becomes apparent.
I would also like to inform you that I did go through the entire process of animating all my figures in 3D-- the concept of animation overlap is still completely valid when one looks at a shadow or a stark silhouette, because the way the forms overlap each other will describe what each unique silhouette shape really is.
So in the end, I did animate my film completely as if the characters were going to be drawn out in 3D form for the final version. But I had to erase all those drawn roughs so that only the silhouette remained for the look of the film.

Very interesting! The silhouettes probably made for some easy but pleasantly stylized animating, and the perspective and the screenshot with the birds look expertly done.

Thanks!! Yeah the layouts REALLY added a LOT (say... most of the plot, hahaha!) HD? Noooo sorry.... We don't start working with HD until next year ;) But that doesn't mean that you won't find a DVD in your mailbox sometime [hopefully] soon! :D

WOW! It looks amazing with the real backgrounds in place! The wonky bricks add a really nice touch. Any chance of an HD version? :P
